Hand embroidered spiral galaxy embroidery hoop, inspired by pictures of the Pinwheel Galaxy. Created using French knots of cotton embroidery thread with Turkey work creating the burgundy space dust, stitched on to a black cotton fabric. The embroidery is displayed in a 12 inch beech wood embroidery hoop that has been painted with Farrow & Ball – paean black, this has been sealed with a protective lacquer.
